1. Know that God loves you.
John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
God loves all men, but because He is so holy, he hates sin and must judge it.
2. Understand your spiritual condition.
Romans 3:23 “For ALL have sinned and come short of the glory of God.”
You cannot do enough good deeds to get to Heaven. No matter how good you do, you will still fall short.
3. Realize the penalty for sin.
Romans 6:23a “For the wages of sin is death…”
Just like there is a payment for good, there is also a payment for wrong. The penalty for sin is eternal death in a place called Hell (Revelation 20:14).
4. Know Jesus Christ paid for your sin by His death and resurrection.
Romans 6:23b “…but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our LORD.”
Christ’s great love for you was shown when He died on the cross for you to pay your sin debt. Christ claimed power over death when he rose from the dead.
5. Repent of your sin and trust Christ to save you
Romans 10:9,13 “That if thou shalt confess with they mouth the LORD Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved…For whosoever shall call upon the name of the LORD shall be saved.”
Repent means to change you mind and that you now see your sin as God sees it.
If you would like to repent of your sin and have Christ save you right now, let us help you word a prayer (Realize it is not mere words that save you, but your faith in Christ).
“Dear Jesus, I know I’m a sinner. I believe you died and rose again for me. I repent of my sin and ask You to forgive me. I trust You and You alone to take me to Heaven when I die. Thank you for saving me. Amen.”
