Deneen Akers: Missionary to Japan
Dear Pastor Walters and Church,
It’s the end of July and summer vacation has started in Japan. During the month of August we are planning several events. Every Thursday, during the month of August, I will be holding an English class for children. Please pray for many to participate and for me as I teach them not only English, but also the Bible.
August 20-22 we will be having our annual family camp with the other BBF churches in our area. Pray for God’s blessings during this special time together. On August 25 we will be holding our second special meeting for children. At our previous meeting on June 23 we had a total of 14 children, one grandmother and one mother attend. We had a wonderful meeting and there were four children who accepted the Lord as their Savior. We are expecting more blessings at our next meeting as well.
Recently, there has been a man by the name of Mr. Sato who has been attending our afternoon service on Sundays. He is full of questions and little by little seems to be responding to the word of God. Please pray for his salvation.
I would like to ask special prayer for the wife of the couple I am working with, Mrs. Mori. Something was found in her lung on a chest X-ray during a routine exam. she is in the process of having several tests and will know all the results on August 2. Of course we are hoping and praying for it to be nothing serious. Thank you so much for your faithful prayers and financial support.
